Default Another guy with a problem

Well my problem is a rather weird one. This car is my mom'* and what happens is all the time it will start fine, then probley once a day it does this thing where it won't start just sits there a turns over. Wait about 10-20 minutes and its starts up fine like nothing ever happened. Its throwing no codes no check engine light. Mechanic said clean the crank shaft sensor, did and no effect. Fuel pump turns on.. fuel filter maybe? but it has pressure. Changed spark plugs they were bad. but still no effect. Could the heat just rencently fryed something? My dad keeps guessing its the computer but we replaced that not to long ago. Well I need some advice im at a crossroads of what to do and I got to get this fixed cause I want my truck back!!! :?

a bunch

My first guess would be replace camshaft sensor.

Second guess would be a bad ground somewhere.

First before throwing out answers, we need to know what year, model, and what engine it has. So please take time to click the "Profile" link at the top of the site, and type in the year, trim level and what engine you have. And then we can help you.

A dying crankshaft sensor can be intermittent and can prevent starting. But there could be other problems. A camshaft sensor can be completely dead and the car will still start. What year and engine do you have? Please put it in your signature.

Mine did the same thing yesterday afternoon...but I could not get the windows to roll down while the ignition was on...but all other accessories worked fine. Read many threads concerning bad grounds-searches helpful /but dosn't explain the power windows no rolling down-Do you experience this with her car when it won't start?

Although I'm not he original author of this post, we are having the same problem, and mine is at the shop as we speak...I have a check engine light that is on, will share the results. I am unclear to the responses in other post on if this caould be a VATS problem.

Yes we have our own code reader, not professional but it did pick it up last time the crank senor went out. I have scaned it twice and both times no codes, though that wasn't when the car wasn't starting.
