Amp Gauge Troubles PLEASE HELP
The interior gauge on my dash for my amps is riding low. Can someone tell me why when i am driving and and moving along the gauge is almost in the red! When i slow down it raises just a little bit. It does this during the day and at night. I have a new alternator and a new battery on the car. So what could this be?

Could this be a ground issue? I wouldn't know where to begin looking, though.
Check the main connector on the back of the alternator. Tightly connected?
Anyone know exactly where the car measures voltage?

Boss, is this an ammeter, or voltmeter on the inst. cluster? not familiar w 95'*. If the car stationary at idle (all accessories off) then turn on the rear defroster, what does the gauge do?

Is it possible that your belt is slipping under load and decreasing alternator output? This is the first time I've heard of low voltage in motion and higher voltage at idle.
