Default Air only blows out top & bottom ducts only. Not the VENT

When I turn on my AC heat etc. It will only blow out the top duct and bottom duct. No matter where I put the switch. IT WILL NOT BLOW OUT THE VENTS! The switch works off vacuum right? I pulled the switch panel everything looked fine and hooked up. Its driving me crazy! A guy at work said might be the vacuum pod what the hell is that?

Yes the doors to control the direction of the air flow is controlled by vacuum. This "vacuum pod" is located on the firewall on the drivers side of the car...at least that'* where it is on mine. Same thing happened to me except when my vacuum line popped off it didn't switch at all, just went through the defrost. The fact that yours is still working at all makes me think it is something else...good luck.

Vols, go to your profile and fill out your signature with what car you have. It'll help us figure out what'* up with your car. From 1987 to 2003, there are 4 or 5 different climate control panels available. Welcome to the forum! Try running a tube to your passenger and having them suck on it when you want vent! If that dosen't work, you may have a vacuum leak in the vent circuit, or that door may be gummed up. Trying cleaning and lubing it lightly with something that doesn't smell bad.

Does the tube to the passenger really work?
