Default Air Conditioner Problems

I just tried my A/C for the first time this week, and when I tried to turn it on, I just got vent air. I tried adding 134a, it was on the border of being low, but it didn't help. I think either there is something wrong with the compressor or something wrong electrically that is preventing it from being turned on, because when I go between vent and A/C, you don't hear that sound that the compressor usually makes. Is there anything like relays, etc that I can check on my own before I pay someone to fix it?

Well, there is a compressor clutch relay that has start permissive interlocks to protect the compressor. Those are high pressure cut out, and low pressure cut out. I believe there also might be an interlock with the ventilation blower, and also the throttle position, WOT cut out. So there'* quite a few things to look at here. Start with checking to see if the refrigerant charge is up to par.

The refigerant was at the lower limit of what the can said was ok, so i added a little more, but it didn't help. Where are the relays located, I looked in the maxifuse panel, but there'* no chart under that cover saying what the relays are for.

I just supplied you with generalized information. I was hoping that one of the 92-95 gearheads would chime in. I'm more knowledgable on the 2000+ Bonnevilles although they are very similar in operation to the older.

Thanks for the advice, hopefully someone here with a service manual could tell me the positions of the different relays.
