Hi Guys,

I did the evap clean on my 1992 SSE to see if it would improve the airflow from my AC vents. It did not make much of a difference. I have the automatic climate control which I hate. The AC blows pretty cold but not hard enough. The right most passenger vent is the weakest of all. I also noticed that no matter what a little air flows from the bottom when the AC is on and I would think that all the air should be coming out of the top vents. But I looked under the dash by the center console and I must be missing a piece of hose or something that should be directing some air to the rear vents. I am a little confused. The other day at work a person with a 92SE parked next to me and I asked them about their AC. They have the manual controls..but guess what? I had her turn on her AC and it has the same exact symptoms as mine. Poor air flow from the vents and the right passenger vent hardly blows at all. I have checked my blower motor and it is fine. Is it safe to assume that some door is not closing or opening when it should? Is it safe to guess that this piece will cost about $1.50 but will require 6 hours of labor to rip my dash apart?

Yeah some help here would be great. My 94 has the same problem. But the weakest vent is the left drivers.

Might check to see how many amps your blower motor is pulling. If it'* pulling more than 25-30 amps, it'* slowing down, getting ready to go altogether. Then check the blower control module. If that looks good, try changing the temp on your climate control, and make sure the doors are opening and closing, and see if it blows at different levels at each interval. If that seems faulty, it could be your HVAC programmer. But, really, I doubt it'* the programmer. Let us know what you get on your volt and amp readings...

My weakest vent is also the one on the far right. Air flow is not as strong as other cars I've been in, but I haven't compared it to a Bonny.

Do not know if this will help but has every one checked to make sure there vacuum lines are good going to there vacuum ball. Those little black vacuum lines brake up after a few years.

Vacuum ball?? Is there one on my 96 SE, if so where?? I might as well check that while I am checking everything else going on with this crazy car....it is a love/hate relationship, this one (I've had 2) has been a terrible car, but I swear I do love a Bonny !!

If it'* the same as the earlier Series I, and you have the auto climate control, it'* a round hockey puck sized vacuum manifold, usually to the right of the stereo behind the dash. Easiest access to it is either through the passenger hush panel, or the stereo hole.

OK..I checked 2 more bonnies...1 a 92 and 1 a 93...both exhibit poor airflow from the vents even with the blower on the highest setting. Should I just change my blower motor for the heck of it ? I don't want to throw money away but it might be worth a try. My intuition tells me that it has nothing to do with the blower motor though.

I had my vents clean and I noticed that more air came through them...I Mechanic took apart the the fuse box that'* located in the hood by the fire wall. He just used an air gun and it worked...Hopefully this will help.

Well look at it this way, you have about 8-9 months till the ac will be used again.
