Default ABS pump

I have taken my car back in to the local Pontiac dealer twice in the last year. They have replaced the ABS pump twice as the new one they put on failed in under 12 months. The cost of the new one installed.....wanna guess?....... :?:
I freegan chit my pants.......$1,800 cdn! for a brass coupling! or was it 18k gold!
has anyone else experienced a repair like that?

My dealer wants $900 US to replace the PMV assembly for my Traction/ABS. I'm doing it myself. The PMV is only 320 bux from gmpartsdirect.com.

The 89'* have that older style integrated hydraulic unit with that high-pressure accumulator. I can imagine it'* not cheap to get one now.
