About the time I hit Northfield MN for the minimeet, I noticed that the ABS and traction control lights were coming on simultaneously. Didn't concern me much, 'cuz I don't care about either of those things much. But it'* my wife'* winter car.........
So it happened to my wife today and also the ABS kicked in with only average brake pressure. Both lights go on. I assume the traction control is kicking out sympathetically.
Willwren, I did read your comments earlier this month about connectors and sensors. I suspect that'* it, and not an expensive pump or something. So tomorrow I will start looking for connectors and sensors.
But anyway I did take it out for a good test tonight. Both lights come on at ign on. Both lights go out at startup. Both lights can come on upon any braking (or not). One time, the ABS kicked in on light braking, just like happend to wifey.
I found a gravel road and was able to test. ABS worked fine as long as light didn't come on. I started back home and lights came on. Went back to gravel road, and then no ABS.
I guess my real question at this point is: Is the basic ABS system probably ok?
Things I have done recently: new battery, blew power socket fuse in Northfield trying to plug in an inverter. Have also had lots of rodent problems with all cars (buying lots of mothballs). Lately they chewed through 3 1/2 of four wires on my trucks first bank O2 sensor.
I've also been tearing up the carpet trying to find the ground busses. Are these a little more obscure on the '94?
Thanks!!
