mine did that smell thing for awhile (i ignored it, bad idea ) and then the little plastic elbow on the intake exploded, so i changed that out and the water pump, and pressure wash my engine and surrounding area... but that was just my experince....

I will check the throttle body area again when my wife gets home. I have looked over my entire coolant system with a fine tooth comb and never could find the leak. Maybe the TB is in fact slightly oozing. :?

My coolant by-pass elbow is only 70,000 miles old. Same with the heater core.

Another area to check is the composite tanks on the ends of the radiator. Over time and age they tend to crack, and seep slowly.
