97 SSE - LOWER intake manifold coolant leak
Hey, all I wanted to pass this on to see if anyone can fill me in on the problem I've had recently.
I was losing lots of coolant, and I found it was dribbling out of the LOWER intake manifold. There is a plastic elbow pipe going from the center of the lower intake (on the pulley side of the engine) to the water pump casting. Where that elbow meets the intake, the dex-cool was leaking out.
Anyway, I fixed it by adding some sealant in the radiator. I almost tore the top-end down, but the weather was TOO cold for that kind of heroics. Anybody know anything about this part? My Haynes manual had NOTHING on it.
thanks,
Jim O.

I did one on Jseabert'* 93 SSE....but we had it all torn down already. It'* the bypass fitting, I believe......coming straight out of the top of the WP? about 3/4" in diameter? Into the end of the lower intake.
