99ssei Front Calipers????
How would I know if the front calipers aren't working properly,,,,,,,
I hate SEARS I've taken my car 4 times this week, I guess they love to see me comming back. I live there!!
A year ago I got the 3 year warranty for front breaks, I purchased:
front new calipers
front new brake pads
front new brake disc rotors
and rear brake pads
Well this year I hear the squeaking sound of wear out breaks, I take to Sears to have them replace for free. Well I took it to the wrong place!!
They change new:
front brake disc rotors
front brake pads
they cut the rear drums
the rear brake shoes are still ok
and balance the tires
When I'm driving over 70 mph and hit the brakes the vehicle shakes, the middle of the car, the steering wheel, IT'* ANNOYING Specially when you drive an hour to work every day.
What next the calipers?
What are the symptoms for caliper malfuntion.
Help please (I HATE SEARS)

Sounds like your rotors are warped.
You would get poor response if your calipers were wasted. And your stopping distance would be increased because the other brakes are doing the braking.

I stood next to every mechanic, over the shouldering what they were doing to any piece of my vehicle...
Believe me I was so there, they even fel unconfortable. Cause I asked them on everything they did and why they did it. I even helped them do some of the work.
Yes it has brand new rotors, pads, and rear right hand brake cylinder. They also cut the drums and it still shakes. steering and middle of vehicle, I hated it.
See I would love to do it my self, but I paid over $300.00 for this service and warranty for 3 years.
It has to be the front calipers but how to check?

I'd say rotors. Not calipers. Have you had the wheels off since the work? Did you personally re-torque the lugs? Uneven lug torque will cause warped rotors. Did Sears torque them correctly?
I'm not a fan of Sears Automotive Service. I wouldn't go near that place with my car, except for tires and batteries.

I'll go there again and have them fix it. Because is under warranty, if not I want to collect the money I paid.
Calipers would have to be the next step. It did have a little bit of a pull to the right when driving, the mechanic swap front tires and it pulled to the left when driving. So we figured that a the right tire is defective. "Goood" That'* the only thing that got me impressed with Sears mechanics (smart asses).
I would let you guys know tomorrow.

Don, he'* about 300 miles from you He has a potential motor mount failure I've been trying to help him with, but a visual look-see from another neighbor might be in order

I'm a little concerned about a bad mount on a 99....seems a bit early for that, but an impact/wreck may have broken a bracket. We've just created a dual-topic thread!
