I just put a tranny in my car and now am noticing that in overdrive when going up a hill or pull it doesn't want to downshift out of overdrive,can the linkage be adjusted to cure this problem,other than that it shifts fine......

Do you know what the transmission came out of? Different gear ratios and or models can sometimes cause small issues like this. Also if you can get it scanned to ensure what is going on with it, that would be helpful.

In 97 the trans is electronically controlled, TPS plays a big part...although if it was working properly before the swap the TPS shouldn't be a factor now.

The tranny was bad when i bought the car,but am almost sure the #'* matched..what type of scanner do i need,like a snap-on car scanner,friend has 1.......
