Default 97 anniversary edition.....Help?

think i have damaged the engine by driving it too hard, i do believe a rod is knocking quite noticably, wondering since i no longer trust car repair garages, if there are any members that recommend a trustworthy place to take and re-do the engine for me..............I'm in southwestern ontario area.....TIA
