Default 96 ssei tranny

i have a 96 bonnie ssei, and when i came out today, started my car and put it in drive... nothing. i tried reverse and still nothing. i checked my trans fluid and it seemed burned. do you guys think my tranny is dead, or do i need a new filter and flush?

sounds like it is dead to me, especially if it smelled burnt. How was the level?

any symptoms before this? it seems odd that you would be able to drive it home, and then it would go completely dead.
