Default 96 Olds LSS climate control staying on

One of my co workers has a 1996 Oldsmobile LSS and when he turns off the car and takes out the key the climate control stays on. You can still turn on the fan, etc. He has the automatic climate control. Nothing else stays on in the car, just the climate control. ANy ideas what could be wrong or how to fix or disable this? Thanks

Anyone with any ideas, quick help is needed as it is a daily driver and running down the battery all the time.

Looked somewhere else since I haven't heard anything yet that it could be the blower motor control module?? Any thoughts?

Shooting in the dark here. When my remote starter was installed they had to do some extra wiring to make the ECC come on without the key being inserted. Check the fuse box for any suspicious wiring.
