HOW TO CHECK BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL MODULE? ACCORDING TO FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL, MODULE IS SUPPLIED BY PULSE WIDTH MODULATED SIGNAL TO DETERMINE BLOWER SPEED. ANYONE HAVE IDEA HOW TO CHECK MODULE INDEPENDENTLY OF HVAC PROGRAMMER MODULE?

Are you having problems? The module is located below the relay center on the firewall and is inserted into the top of the heater box next to the blower motor so that the air cools it.

One of the best checks on the module is to pull the blower motor feed. Check for voltage and amps. If you have volts and no amps, it'* most likely the blower module.

sorry about yelling. my first post. 96 bonneville with le trim. apparently it had a lot of factory options such as the automatic a/c. at approx 136000 miles the blower continued running after ignition shut off. i could not determine if the hvac programmer module or the blower control module (solid state) was at fault. thought maybe there was a bench procedure for checking the solid state blower module. anyway ended up in junkyard and found hvac programmer module and a blower module (dealer wanted $800 for the hvac module and $179 for the blower module). junk yard wanted $50 for hvac and $25 for blower. by substitution determined it was blower module. problem solved.

some interesting discoveries, the hvac module can be removed and reconnected by removing glove box and disconnecting top connector with a screwdrive thru a small hole in metal frame behind glove box (reconnecting the top connector is tedious but with patience can be done). bottom connector and vacuum harness is accessible by removing sound deading panel underneath dash.

only way to stop blower when problem first occurred was to remove a 30 amp fuse in the rh fuse panel just above blower module.
