Default 95 SSEI Rough Idle. Boost gauge up and down

I have a 1995 SSEI I just bought when the Bonne is idling in park or in drive the boost gauge is bouncing up and down and the car seems like its trying to go. What would cause this. To me it seems like the supercharger is still trying to push while idling. How can I fix this?

The supercharger is always trying to push. The built in bypass dumps excess air back to the SC inlet when not needed. My guess is a vacuum leak.

Or it could be the idle air control valve is opening up real wide at low idle speeds because it is having trouble idling low. Possibilities are spark plugs, plug wires, ignition coils, among other things including vacuum leaks.

Hopefully someone that can better help you narrow it down will chime in soon.

I'd spray some intake cleaner on all your vacuum hoses/lines first while it'* idling. If the idle changes (seems to choke/slow down) when you hit a certain area you have a vacuum leak.

Another very good possibility of a vacuum leak is your EGR tube, the section that extends from the throttle body to the EGR valve. Take it off and inspect it for cracks on both ends.

You mention the gauge is bouncing all around. Does the boost ever get positive?

It only bounced when its idling. It doesn't go to the positive unless I'm Pushing it a lil bit. The only times the boost gauge bounces is at idle. When I drive the gauge is always where its supposed to. It just seems to me that when you are idling the supercharger shouldn't make the boost gauge move.
