Default 95 SSE rear air shock question<--fixed

Hey Guys,

On my 1995 SSE I had new rear air shocks/struts put in. Now when the car goes over bumps the rear end makes a clunk sound. So on inspecting the whole rear suspension I found that both rear air shocks are lose!

The upper mounts are tight but the large nut that goes onto the upper strut is very loose. I believe its called the 'strut-to-knuckle nut'

Photo for reference:

I can't seem to get any type of socket down the whole where they mount inside the trunk area.

Feels like there is an allen head on the shock shaft where the nut goes onto.

Does anybody here have first hand experience installing rear air shocks in Bonneville'* year range 1992-1999?

I am going to complain to the shop where they where installed when I get back home from vacation.

Thanks for your help in advance!

-Todd

Ok problem fixed!

Turns out I was correct. Both struts where loose.

Disconnected the struts and found that the mechanic who put them in did not torque down the top bolt that holds the strut to the mount.

All better.
