Default brake booster

My uncle said that the brake booster could also cause this type of problem. What is your opinion on that? Thanks for all the help.

I have a similar problem. She'll never stall. Just wants to. And of course the pressure guage drops cause the engines barely running. It'* my EGR. And occasionally will get the smell associated with a bad Cat. I can tap the EGR with a scredriver handle to get it unstuck everytime. just too lazy to clean it. If it'* only sometimes i'd check that out. If it'* constant then I'd lean towards the bearing. My guage has never been right either Big Float when I stop sometimes tripping the warning. Worse as the oil ages.

Default oil pressure

When I am driving or giving gas the oil pressure reads about half way. But now the car is barely running, I can only get up to second gear and about 20- 25 mph and muy gas milage, before this started, was awful.

I would heavily suggest not driving the car around for now until the problem is located especially in that condition...

You know the old saying "a stitch in time saves nine"...well...more could go wrong with the car running that badly and being forced to drive in that condition....It doesn't sound good as is, but I certainly wouldn't want it to get worse for you...

Mike, You say "heavily" a lot.

Anyway, My two cents...

It is quite possible that her engine is just running poorly (i.e. missing, stumbling etc, idling low), and that the idle is low enough for the oil pressure gauge to drop.....

I've seen it plenty of times. Person who knows little about cars says, my oil light is coming on , so I added oil. I inspect car, car idles at 300 rpms.... Oil light is steady...

Also, poster mentioned Car is hard to start and wants to die when stepping on the brakes...

My bet is a vacuum leak, causing the car to idle rough / low, thus lowering oil pressure....

You'd better believe a good enough vacuum leak will make the car hard to start too.

I am just throwing a guess out but could it be the oil pump going out since the oil pressure is dropping than when you give it guess it lets the pump move faster?? Just an idea.

Default update

I checked witht he aout repair shop that I used a few months back. They replaced one of the coil packs, changed oil, changed vaccum lines and the air filter so I am assuming it is not the vaccum lines and Uncle has not looked @ it. Says if I can get it to his shop he will take a look ( if I could get it to him then odds would be the car was fine lol)
