Fuel pump, if you read wilwrens post above that oen it will make sense.

When you get the Gauge it will having instructions in it,
But this is how it goes, Screw gauge onto the fuel rail, turn the Key to on, Bleed out the air, check for leaks(Gauge), Start car, Bleed more air out, then watch the gauge, see what it reads. Reve it up and hold it a few times...

Why are we mentioning the incorrect way to test fuel pressure?

FSM says put gauge on, turn key on and off, bleed air... then turn key on and off a few times to reach maximum pressure. Watch gauge for 10 min to see if any bleed down occurs.

Says nothing about starting car. If you have issues at higher rpm..then I suggest lengthening the hose and watching FP while driving.

doesn't it show the fuel presure while its running? i mean i dont see how there would a big diffrence when reving in the drivway and reving while driving. its fuel doen't it stay around the same at all speeds, just changes a little depending on the throttle %?

Wilwren- You know now that i think about it, i do rember a few times like 2 months ago when i didn;t wait 2 sec to start it and it did take a longer time to start....


Boosty- Yeah i also did it that why , it only got up to 40...

And at 40.. it'* within an acceptable range. If you suspect further problems.. drive and watch FP.

Wow thats nuts. My mustang idles at 32 and spikes to 39 while revving...thats with a new fuel pump.
