Default 2 different magnavox coils for 1992?!?!

Mechanic called. Said the coil I bought from Napa is the wrong firing order. The part number they gave me is IC28SB. I show that as correct. Have any of you experianced such a thing?

Never heard of that. I think in the mid 80'*, they changed from an "odd fire" to make the engine smoother. Anywho, they should be able to just reroute the spark plug wires to make it right, I would think.

In fact, I'm sure of it. Tell them to route the spark plug wires right.

I can't see how the coils could change the firing order, unless they’re just numbered different.

If it'* a complete unit with the ICM and coil all in one, it'* possible that the unit is wrong (maybe for the odd-fire, or for the 3.0 or 3.3?) I personally have picked the wrong unit (Delco, not Magnavox, but same concept) from a junkyard, and the ICM connector won't even go in, the notches/grooves are different.

But yeah, the coil itself can't change the firing order, I wouldn't think. That'* an ICM thing, isn't it?

But personally, I'd suggest returning this one to Napa anyway, and buying a used Delco (Type II) unit off of Ebay. Far cheaper, probably better.

Personally, I think he was drunk. I think it was upside down.

Sorry all.

The only alternative is that the ICM I picked up was the wrong one.
