Yep
The reason I was kind of disappointed about that revelation was because any other NA '93 I might get isn't going to feel any faster. Oh well; mine is already quite peppy as it is, hehe

You guys gotta remember that most of the cars with 2.84 gears had 15" wheels with 205/70, 215/70, or 225/60 tires, all around 25.5" tall. The 3.06 cars with 16" wheels, running 225/60/16s, are more than an inch taller. The effective difference in a 2.84 car with short tires and a 3.06 car with tall tires is minimal.

On my 91 Bonneville I have the 2.84 gear ratio and 215/65R15 stock... If memory serves all Pontiac Bonnevilles 92-99 came stock with 215/65R15... The only option was the 225/60 R16..
Now the older bonnevilles did have a few more tire options..
Now what would that make the height diffrence? Say between the 215/65 R15 and the 225/60 R16?

A 215/65/15 is 26.0" tall. A 225/60/16 is 26.6" tall. (225/60/15 would be 1" shorter than 225/60/16). This affects the final drive ratio.
