It could be a bad fuel pump fuse or relay or a clogged fuel filter or one half and two other dozen items in there that could have went bad or that is just not working right. You need to check the fuel pressure for starters and go from there and check your fuel pump fuse and relay and see if they are ok. Check your battery cables and make sure they clean and not loose and have no corrosion on them. I wish you the best of luck.

I just replaced the fuel pump and filter, but if I disconnect the line at the filter without depressurizing the line, it just pours out a little gas out of the line. Shouldn't there be more pressure there?

Get the code checked anyway if you can. It should be stored in memory and will more than likely point right to the problem.

Have your fuel pressure checked. Maybe your fuel pump was damaged.

edit: see that you replaced it.

hey there.. you sould like you are having almost the same problem I am.. or similar! I have not figured mine out.. I DO not have a check engine light.
My car will start and run, then I shut off and restart 10 min later upt to 2 hrs and it immediatly stalls repeatatly! I can keep it running with the gas pedle..
I have replaced mass air flow sesor crank sensor, plugs wires harmonic balancer, and the problem still exists!
Let me know if you find anything out.. ZAYNEZX6R@yahoo.com

If all this started after running out of gas...maybe some debris from the bottom of the tank got sucked into the fuel lines..into injectors.. pressure regulator etc? Have you tried cleaning the fuel system/\?

thanks for the reply.. I actually did not run out of gas.. the car sat for about a year till I bought it 1 month ago and started driving it. the car runs and drives perfect except for when I restart it after its warmed up and been shut of for the 10min- 2 hr period.. after getting it going for about a mile. it runs and drives perfect again. It is sending no codes at all.. not even pending codes.
its a 96 se 3.8 series 2
I have invested

mass air flow sensor
crank position sensor
harmonic balances
plugs/wires
pcv
tranny service also.

How do I clean the fuel lines, injectors, and pressure regulator? Do I just use the gas additives or do I need to disassemble everything?
