also remember that you will Need a trans from a 95 car......Whel Bill Buttermore did his trans swap on 95 SLE, the only trans that would work is one from a Compatable 95 with the same gear ratio

I found a tranny out of a 1995 bonneville car is gone so I don't know if it was a se or sle or ssei. the tag the guy has a A_S_ on it. Does this help me or does it have to say FW2 on it.

You should stay with the FW2 to keep the same gear ratio as your car. (Assuming your car is FW2)

what will the tag on the tranny say (the car has been crushed) will the tranny say FW2 or is there a cross number.

I was told its a 2.84 gear ratio

hrm... wish I knew this last week and you were close to upstate, NY. The junkyard by me had transmissions for $49.99 u-pull-it. there was atleast one 95 SE in there. Normally they are like 70-100.

I posted need for tranny. You know where there is one I will pay for shipping and your time. They want 900-2000 to rebuild mine.
