1994 SSEi problems and intro
Hi folks,
I've been searching the archives looking for some help with my new car but haven't had much luck and I hope someone can help me. First a little background on me I am new to the supercharged engines but not V6s. I've owned a 1987 LeSabre T-Type since 1993 and have put 267,000 miles on it. I used to own a 1987 Buick Grand National that I owned since 1988 and sold it a couple years ago with just 14,000 miles on it. I still sell Thrasher chips for the Turbo V6 Buicks and used to talk to the original developer on a weekly basses but he got out of the GNs and into the supercharged cars and I didn't. The other day I bought a very sweet 94 SSEi with 69,000 original miles. It'* green with tan cloth interior, HUD, 8 speaker sound system, keyless remote, 6 way power seat, 16" alloy wheels. The problem I have is the check engine light is on and the traction control off light is on too. The cruise control doesn't work either. My buddy read the codes and said it has a cam sensor error code and a crank sensor error code. It stumbles occassionally but not too bad. My buddy thinks it needs an new ECM but thought I'd run it by you guys since you know these cars. Please help me out and let me know if you also think it needs an ECM.

Codes would be a help... The codes will be P0--- or P1--- ... This will help us point you in a direction, or at least give us some ideas as to what the problem may be... At this point I am not convinced that you need a new PCM...

It would help to have CURRENT codes. Traction control codes would be dealer-only. Typically a wheel speed sensor or wiring to one of the hubs, anything other would be very expensive to fix (PMV or EBCM).
Anyway, it would be good to have the PCM codes cleared, drive for a day or two, then check again.
