Not supercharged, in cleaning up the front engine cover, I am not happy with the corrosion on the gasket surfaces.. Some areas don't bother me too much, but there is one area where if a breach occurs, coolant will end up inside the engine.
I have another cover that has great gasket surfaces, but the nipple for the small elbow bypass hose has a hole in it. I'm not concerned about it breaking off, but certainly there is concern for leakage of coolant - but to the outside of the engine, which gives this engine cover the lead in what I put back on. I could install a sleeve inside that nipple, cover the hole, very light press fit with epoxy, which could seal that hole.. Question is, how much do I dare close up that hole in the nipple, any type of sleeve will be somewhat restrictive... Has anyone done this? Or, anyone got a nice front cover I can buy? Thanks.. Mike
