Default 1/4 diameter smaller on cat

I was going to change out my muffler with a 2.5 magnaflow muffler and I noticed that my cat is 2.25, but the rest of my exhaust is 2.5. This the first time I got underneath the car to tamper with the exhaust. My question is, is this hurting flow/performance of the vehicle?

I'm assuming on your L27? No, it'* not hurting at all. Going larger might hurt.
