Default When are the instrument lights on?

i just noticed it tonight but my instrument lights dont come on
i've never driven the car after dark and i dont ever remember them ever being on..
i tried with the car on, the park lights on, then with the headlights on
but to no avail

Check the fuse if thats not blown your going to have to pull the cluster to see if the bulbs are bad.

wait i did think of that, all of the instrument cluster is on Fuse 16, my DIC speedo and Light Monitor work, Ilumination is my problem...

No, Wait, Before You Do That. There Is A Dial That You Need To Turn Up. There Is One On The Left Side For The Automatic Headlights Then Theres The Headlights Switch, And Then There Is The Interior, Including The Insterment Cluster. Remember UP

Ya Karl is right, sometimes the simple explanation is the right one, oh and I posted a thread about pulling out the instrument cluster. Check it out, but, its seems to me you know what you are doing so, that being said...good luck.!!

Make sure you have a few 194R'* and 1 or 2 194B'* just in case

Hehe true I prolly should have suggested to turn the **** Oops :? that would be a waste if thats what the problem was and he pulled the dash out I feel bad now

That **** is part of the headlight switch on the older cars, right? It'* possible the Rheostat for the dash light dimming has an open in it. May need to replace that sucker. I have a wiring diagram around here somewhere for that year if it becomes an issue.

i played with that damned dimmer **** alot, it doesnt do anything, but i'll test it
