What is the difference between a LG3 and the LN3?

OK, so its the 1st update of the old fireball engine,after it was moved to the front wheel drive. Does my vin code have anything in it I can use to find out what I have or is this all I need to know to have my cam ground? :?

The 8th VIN digit tells the engine.

Ok, let's solve this once and for all. Go outside, pop your hood, and tell us how many valve cover bolts you have.

3 bolts in the middle - LG3
6 bolts around the perimeter - LN3

or take a pic and we can tell you ;)

6 bolts, 2 on top and 4 across the bottom. LN3?
