If you are going to use the L27 Heads and all of the L27 related items then the L27 kit is what you need.. The only thing you'd have to worry about is the head gaskets...
But let me make this clear, We have top swapped an LN3 before and used all of the L27 Upper end parts right down to the heads..
The 88-90 and 91-95 Series I blocks are pretty much the same with the exception of a missing bolt boss on the LN3, and the 88-90 LN3 used a Rope seal for the rear main... 91 went to a One Piece rear main...
The oil pan gasket should be the same, but you aren't replacing that are you?
The Heads gaskets are the same, the valve cover gaskets are the same.... On and on... But if you are using all of the L27 Top end parts right down to the heads you don't need to worry about the gaskets working with the Vin C...

Originally I was going to just replace the gaskets and I didnt know what type of kit I needed, but now I want to swap the top end so I needed to know which gasket set I should get. Ive decided to go with a complete engine kit and use whatever I use. I will wait to buy the gaskets until I know if I am going to use the LN3 or the L27 top end and buy the kit accordingly.
