Default transaxle/engine/ECM mix n match question ...?

I currently have an '89 SSE with a hydraulically controlled 4T60 (440-T4) that is in dire need of a rebuild, and I was thinking about just upgrading to an electronically controlled transaxle. In order to run a 4T60-E transaxle with a LN3, could I use the ECM from a '91 SSE? Does anyone know if that is even possible?

in 91 the trans was not electronically controlled either (with the exception of the TC)

I thought that some of the '91 SSE'* came with a VIN L engine and with a 4T60-E transaxle ... I could be wrong though.

oh ok ... Now that I think about it, I guess it was the Park Avenue and the Olds 98 that had those. Thanks for clarifying that though!
