Yes i don't really have a scan tool available to me at the moment. I spose i could go PAY someone at TSI to ride with me and hook up their unit, but i don't think i'm going to do that. I will have to try the brake pedal apply thing. I know for sure though that i can feel it hit OD, but after that i don't feel that extra little bump down into lockup. I know that in my moms T&C van though the apply is so smooth i cant feel it at all so that'* not a very good indication. I do know though that i checked the solenoid several times before re-assembling the transmission with a 12v source and i could hear it clicking in and out. Maybe i just should have replaced it when ihad the chance. Believe me if it doesn't work it'* not getting fixed.

Same-same for my 84 Fiero. Could see signal going to TCC with $9.95 DVM but no lock. Drove about 45,000 miles including a few road trips that way without any problem.
If you plan to keep the car and repair yourself a scan tool is a wise investment - have seen good units go for $15-$25. I am partial to the OTC 2000 myself (and can use 88 or 89 cartridge on our 90 by lying about year). They are usually on e-Bay. Just make sure you get the GM cable and cartridge (or 3in1).

Well i know it'* not a problem to drive it like this but gas is going up and up so the extra 2-3 MPG helps around here. I havn't really been getting great mileage with mine lately anyways.
