Default Tail Light Replacement

I'm on a roll here

Today I replaced the rear passenger side tail light assemby. It was cracked to hell and condensation was building on the inside of the assembly. Have a look

Stupid Yahoo...anyway

I picked up a user light assembly from the wrecker for $50 dollars.

Remove the clip for the cargo net in the back, unscrew the plastic cap holding it in place. Pull back the carpetting and you will see 5 black caps. Unscrew the caps and the lens housing falls right out.

Disconnect the lights from the lens housing. Give it a cleaning whille you are back there. The lens housing on 87-91s are huge and cumbersome...be careful.

Take the new one, clean it off nicely. Mine had tape residue on it. I used rubbing alcohol (thanks willwren, but I had the beer and used the rubbing alcohol ) Vegetable oil does a nice job too. Reconnect the light fixtures to the housing and slide back into place, turn on your parking lights to ensure they all still work, replace if necessary.

Rescrew in the plastic caps nice and tight, keeps the water out Tuck the carpet back into place and re-screw the cargo net screws back into place.

And voila, the back of my Bonne looks better then when it rolled off the lot...15 years ago :P

Good luck!
