My 90 SSE is a Canadian car and it does have a rev limiter, I know that first hand.

Not a question of a rev limiter. The VSS signal goes to the ECM and it probably does have a fuel or ignition cut at a preset limit (Have run into that on other cars with different tire speed rated options from the factory.)

Talk to one of the aftermarket chip folks and see if there'* a cell they can wipe out in the EPROM to turn it off (or if they know of it'* existance.) Or, try an eprom with a different broadcast code on it (like off of an SSE or equiv LeSabre)

It'* just too convienient that your car would stop accelerating at a specific speed without topping out the rpm. The aerodynamics of a Buick aren't that bad..the 3800 should be able to push it past 108mph without any trouble.

I am really suprised as to how secure, tight and predictable the car is at those speeds. Definitly would be workable at higher speeds. Dunno how high, but these cars are speed safe, thats for sure.

Oh yes. I take mine up to around 110-115mph about every month or so to run in new parts and the only freaky part is just how stable and smooth the car is at higher speeds. I never have gotten to burry the speedo at ~120 but I suspect that these cars would do just fine at even higher ones. Its amazing what good tires, good suspension, and a happy engine can do sometimes

I remember when I was in my mid teens, my dad had a new 88 SE. We were on a trip to Kelowna, and he had the needle burried and we were pulled over.

He was nailed doing 210KM according to the police. The fine was huge, but I remember it was cool going that fast.

haha, what is it with all of us people going over 100 miles an hour in cars with no airbags and that are almost 20 years old?

But it truly is amazing how smooth and stable these cars are over 110...i mean..you can just FEEL the front of the car get heavier and it feels like you can go FASTER and FASTER..but well it just won't...

Hah, with that said..yeah, Mine will only go to 110, I can hold my foot to the floor...it will not go any faster.

But haha, I just noticed...where did all these 87-91 members come from?!?!? I had no idea there were this many LN3s in the club!!! We need some pictures of these beasts people!!!
