what are some reasons why, when i smash the gas i smell gas?

gas leak? is one of the simple obvious ones..

the flow of fuel doesn't change, its a return system. but i would check the evap lines. is there any leakage that you can see? also put your nose near the fuel lines from the tank to the rail and the evap canister to check for a smell. if you smell gas at ALL, you found it.

Well the only flow of gas that changes when you stomp on it is the flow to the cylinders themselves, i would check for bad injector seals if you still havent found a sorce, but im thinking that usually that would make it kinda run like crap lol
