Default Series 2 Intake on series 1

Will a series two intake manifold fit on an engine with the non tuned type intake? The reason I ask is I can get one for free and its black, which will go with the dress up Im doing on my engine.

COMPLETELY different.
No it will not work. your best bet is to find a 1993-1995 Series I lower and upper intake manifolds from a salvage yard and install those with the TB off the same engine.
Should gain you a few hp also.
The Series II plastic plenum you can get for free probably has a problem.
Also, last, but not least, nothing with that manifold will mate up to your engine.

Its not a bonneville, its a 88 Toronado Trofeo, series 1 vin C. Ill do my sig after I post this. The intake isnt plastic, its metal, but its been powder coated black.

When you say "1993-1995 Series I lower and upper intake manifolds", Are those the 'Tuned port' style? I was thinking about liberating one of those from the salvage yard, but I wasnt sure if they use a different fuel rail setup than mine, or any other differences. Just to be perfectly clear mine is the older intake style with "3800" stamped in the top of it.

Not sure if that will work, but the odds are higher than a Series 2. You'll almost certainly need the fuel rail and injectors.

Take a look at my "L27 under LN3" thread. The pictures show the differences between the heads. You'd either need to put the VIN L heads on your VIN C block, or get your heads machined for the PCV ports.

FWIW, I'll have a complete VIN L (L27) intake system available shortly. The differences in the fuel rail connection, and lack of EGR, were the main reasons I decided to keep my current induction system. I hope to know in a few days whether or not it runs any better; if it does, it'* the cam, not the intake.
