Slow moving windows were rectified with silicone grease thanks to the people on this board! removing the regulator was not my idea of having fun....
Got some questions, noticing the driver door check roller is worn. wondering if anyone knew of how to replace this... Not only that noticing the car is hard to start some times requiring me to hold the starter for a while.. I'm running the magnavox system with relatively new plugs and wires. And finally, the security system... I have no clue as to what its supposed to do....ther light stays on on the dash and I think its responsible fo killing an umber of batteries....

The Security light always stays on?
Its possible that you could have an issues with on of the switches that relate to the security system..

My SSE did that when I bought it. The system is seeing a door or the trunk switch open.
In my case I just unplugged the trunk switch connector and the light went off after closing the doors.
It should blink with the door open, become solid when you hit the lock button and go off when the door is closed.

Your correct the DIC uses all switches as the alarm exept the trunk. It has two switches, a seperate one for the alarm that tends to get jammed open because it has a funny pigtail cable connected to it. And of course the light / trunk ajar switch visible from the bottom, the alarm switch is accessed by pulling down a section of the insulation panel under the trunk lid.
