I am here to vouch for the '87 Tranny on mine. Its got just over 160 thousand miles and its still running just fine. it had a vacuum modulator go but that wasnt nothing. I just changed the fluid on it and all signs look good. So i am here to say on behalf of the '87s, stop talking that smack :P
