Default my car cranks for a long time b4 starting? any ideas

hi my car cranks for abot 4 or 5 seconds before turning over and starting.. and when i listen i can hear the starter clicking while shes cranking so i dont think its that but im not sure what it could be.? does any one no how to make it start right up again. its kinda embarrising having a nice sweet looking and sounding car that sounds like it wont start because it cranks so long... but it always does start... never left me stranded....
recentley i put a new ignition module and coil pack. and my starter is a delco rebuilt that i just got 6 months ago..

what else could it be or is it just cause its almost 20 yrs old? thanks, 88bonnsse

sounds like weak spark. i know its not fueling, because mine was jumping to attention on super low fuel pressure, like 1/2 second starts. still does that. i would recommend a good tuneup and upgrading to a type II delco ignition. But as a precaution, if you don't know when your fuel filter was last changed, its supposed to be changed every 20k, so I would change it if I were you. I know my pump died because of so much backpressure, so its definitely not worth that.

otherwise, make sure that your starter isn't dying, and that your battery is fully charged and full of electrolyte.

I always turn my key to the "on" position for a few seconds to let the fuel pressure build then I hit the starter, just tapping the key, it will fire right up. Going from straight off to turning it over I find it takes longer to start (a couple seconds maybe). this is why I always turn my key on first and then turn it over.

Is it cranking over slow? Does it idle rough after it starts? Does it matter how long the car sits?
