Anyone have this problem when your power moonroof goes from pop up to full
open without stopping in the park position?

all i can tell you is that my 95 has to stop in between the two ways. have to hold the button twice to get it from pop up to full open

Sounds like a bad limit switch. I don't have my factory service manuals handy to check on that right now.

Is not a bug, its a feature just like you have to push the RKE button twice to unlock the passenger door.

Pull the switch once and the moonroof goes to pop-up ventilation (where I usaually leave it). Second time for full open.

Not sure what you mean by "goes from pop up to full open without stopping in the park position". The three positions are park (closed), pop-up, and full open in that order. It closes all the way with one press.

What I meant was if you pop it up then go to close it I used to just hold the switch
and it would stop when it closed. Now it keeps going to the full open position.
I have to jog the motor switch to stop it in the closed position.

mine does the same thing, i have to get out of the car to see if the moonroof is closed fully. Lots of water gets in too if its not closed properly

I got the answer to my moon roof problem.
The motor simply needs to be re - timed.
The gear sometimes jumps the track of the flexible cables.
Alls I did was remove the interior bead around the glass.
Reach up above the headliner and loosen three philips screws with offset screwdriver
until the motor gear drops enough to disengage the cable.
Then you release the timing latch wire and swing it 90 deg.
Turn the small plastic wheel until the notch on the bigger wheel lines up with the switch while the roof is in the closed position.
Presto it now works correctly.

OMG...... really... it can be that simple!!

That'* been bugging me on my 91 since last August.... the dealer said it would probably need a new motor (or something)... repair cost... labor + parts was est at $1200.

Man.... if I try this and it works I'm going to kiss you...... or at least buy you a few beers

Yah the dealer tried to rip me off too. He said the whole headliner had to come out and
there were multiple limit switches and a substantial labor charge.
Thats why I do all my own work!
Even oil changes.....I don't want people I can't trust monkeying with my car.....

HELP

Ok, I printed off your instructions and tried to fix my moonroof today.

First, I removed the rubber trim, but then I figured out I wasn't supposed to. Oh well, no big harm.

Second, I found 3 screws on the front of the moonroof glass, but they just held on a metal "ring". I detached it anyways.

Third, I couldn't find 3 screws above the headliner, but I found 6.
3 on each side of the moonroof that lifts it to "pop" it open. I removed all 6 and removed the moonroof.

I can't figure out how to drop the motor gear or disengage the cable.
I can't find the timing latch wire.
and I can't find a small plastic wheel or larger wheel.

There seems to be 2 cables (one on each side) of the moonroof. But I can't figure out how-to have it "park" when it'* closed.

Little help?
