Magnovox swap to Delco
Hello, i would like to know if anyone have done this swap to a 87 Lesabre. I have a 87
Lesabre T type. The donner car was a 87 Lesabre that already had the Delco parts.
All parts tested ok Coils, ICM. When i installed the Delco system in my car it wouldnt
start it just poped out the throttle body missed fired, turned over but would never start.
All the plug wires were put in the right spot. When i put the magnovox system back in
it fired right up. This is my every day driver and i put 170 miles a week on her. Only
reason why iam making the swap is to better the ideal because i here the Delco runs hotter. Thanks for any help. Aggie.

Thanks for the reply, are you saying that you cant upgrade to the Delco on a 87
Lesabre 3.8 . What if the parts came out of a 87 Lesabre 3.8 that from the factory
had the Delco setup. Thanks, Aggie.

But D1946A Crosses to the 3.8 Lesabre..
Now the question would be if there was a wiring difference between the 2..

The ignition system for the 3.8 and 3300 uses a different type 2 module (D1946A) compared with the type 2 module of the 3800 (D1977A) engines.
Wiring at the Module connector is as follows
Terminal /Circuit Number /Wire Color /Description
There is no difference between the wiring for the Type 1 and 2 modules on the Vin 3.
However- Voltages on these circuits are different depending on which system is installed, similar to the voltage differences in the Type 1 and 2 3800 modules.
3.8 Vin 3

B 424 Tan/Black ECM Bypass signal to ECM pin D5
