lots of Water in exhaust, hesitation, stalling
My 89 lesabre is still having engine problems. The MAF sensor is not the problem, i got a junk yard one put it in, its the same even if i unplug the sensor. There is ALOT of water coming out of the tailpipe also, the car idles around 5-600 rpm, sometimes it will stall, sometimes the engine light is on, sometimes its not on. Also u can tell that the car is running rich from the gas smell in the exhaust. Could it be a intake gasket leak? Or maybe it needs a whole tuneup with fuel filter, pcv, etc? Where should i check for possible vacuum leaks and how would i do that? Thanx 4 the help.

500 rpm idle for your car is normal jamey. Have you checked codes then disconnected the battery for 20 minutes to clear the computer?
the water is probably from having a 17 year old exhaust. Don't catalytic converters change harmful exhaust fumes into moisture?
I have my lesabre running decently good. since were in the same town we could take a look at your car....check over the motor really well, I also know where theres another car we can get parts from for dirt-cheap compared to scrap.
