What is the most restrictive part of our intakes? is it the filter? the accordion tube? or is it the whole package?
Would there be possible to change the accordion tube with a solid pipe and put in a KN drop in replacement? It would be shielded by the box and maybe the flow would be laminar enough to pull the MAF screen? also the opening behiond the headlight could be opened up more.

The fewer turns the air has to make the better. Fluid dynamics in action.

That'* why cone filters are so popular. The air enters the filter at less than a 90° diameter.

Let'* look at your stock box now. The plenum to the TB is offset in the box. Most of the air has quite a little ride to take just to get into the box outlet.

Your generation has a different setup, with the box sitting directly beside the TB, correct? Try a setup like 2000SilverBullet'*. Straight-in shot.
