Good Evening Bonnie Famz,
A question on how many sensors are there in the 1988 SSE bonnies? I heard that there were at least two coolant temp sensors in our vehicles. Would someone step up and let me know for sure how many there are?
Having a small problem with high temp readings. I'm thinking maybe to change the temp. sensors but don't know how many there are?! :?
My bonnie only has one electrical fan, not two.(?) :? Any help is as alway'* much appreciated.

There should be 2 sensors... One for the Gage and the other for the ECM

Have you by chance hooked up a scantool to the car to see what the ECM is seeing in the way of Temps? Might even be a bad ground at the throttle body... Look under the throttle body and you'll see a sensor, look at the wires and check them...

It sounds like you have a bad ground, or one of those 2 switches is bad... But which one I'm not sure of... Look at the wires, there will be a ground under the throttle body, check it first before replacing the sensors..

Thank You jr's3800. One of the sensors are located under the throttle body? And where is the other located at. This is just for future references. I will check to see if the wires are ok.

What about the Low Tech Solution? Check/Replace the Thermostat. Check the Water Pump :?: Although my guess is that your mechanic checked those already. Just a thought.
