i took the tire off today and checked it out and i have no idea. i thought it might be suspension realted sonce it slows down when i slow down. it is very loud and getting vry scary.

i got new tires on it around christmas and the guy said i need ball jpints or boots on the other side but this side was fine... which i have to disagree with after looking at it today YIKES!

what is that rattling noise? it sounds like a rock rolling around in the 'so called' hub cap and someother rumbling noises as well.
any suggestins???

I can't say for sure, but it could possibly be a wheel bearing. Those generally make a growling noise when they go.

Welcome to the forum. You might want to add some details about your car to your sig... Makes it so much easier to answer questions that might have several different answers depending on the year/model. Just your year and model (se, ssei, etc.) would be a good start.

sounds like a wheel bearing to me also, which would also tie in to the abs problem you are having. the bearing may be noisey enough to be inducing stray a/c voltage into the wheel speed sensor, causing the ebcm to think that wheel is turning faster/slower than it really is.

well guess what? i found the problem. i took the tire off looked around, shook around and noticed that my calipers was loose enough to rattel around.

i wasnt sure if that was normal so i looked at the other caliper and discovered that the rubber bushings/ rings (?) that go inside the bolt/pin sleeve were missing along with the rubber dust seal on the bolt/pin head.

it took me three parts stores and a wrong part but finally i got some great help at napa. they looked up all kinds of options since the 90 bonneville (which i have) part didnt fit and showed them to me on the comp and finally i found it.
3.99 (with a friends account discount).

the noise is gone! sounds like a new car its great except for one thing..... now it is so quiet i can hear the slight clunk on the other side.

i also scored that damn tiny little rear bumber reflector ive been missing for years.
