A couple months ago, my crank sensor needed "adjustment". Yeah, jiggle jiggle wire, re-cover stuffed plastic looming with electrical tape.
All this after a DIY intake gasket job, car left dad stranded at work with a no-start condition, "forget this" ensued, free CAA tow was made to mechanic buddy, and a short while later... crank, vroom

Purchased fuel pressure guage as I couldn't find one to rent ($70). System checks out per factory specs. All six injectors firing and no leakage. Fuel pressure regulator and return line check out ok. About to replace ignition wires just to cross it off the list. Unplugged IAC and motor runs at high rpm, returns to idle (sort of) after replugging.
Original problem still exists: runs fine above 2000rpm with perhaps an occasional miss. Below this, it deteriorates and will stumble frequently on idle and soon stall. Runs poorly below 1000rpm. I have done a visual check for loose or damaged wires in the harnesses and checked for any pinched or loose vacuum lines, I even removed the bellows and checked for a loose throttle plate. As far as I can see, I have only the ignition wires and the coils to mess with and then must admit defeat. A sad state of affairs in deed! Any help most appreciated.

Repeat after me.....Do The Simple Stuff First!!!!! I feel as if I have made a ritual sacrifice for the Do It Your Selfer. Lord help me, it was the Ignition Wires. Idles better than ever. Didn't even take it for a test run - it was so smooth. I just bought an $800 education, and I have a nifty new fuel pressure guage. Not to mention a box full of good spares!

They do not have Sears in Canada ? Sunpro/Actron pressure gauge (one I have) is $39.99 list and goes on sale quite often. http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/produ...id=00902169000
