I have an 89 SSE and i always need to press down over 3/4ths the way on the pedal to get it to downshift when im doing about 40 mph and above. Also, if i am trying to accelerate fast, i need to let off the gas a little for it to shift into 2nd and 3rd. many times my trans wont downshift if i am cruising then punch it. I need to wait about 2 seconds or press down really hard.
