My car always started and ran good with the magnavox coil setup, but it starts and runs waaay better with the new Delco ignition. It is hands down much better, and easier and cheaper to replace 1 coil instead of the whole thing.

I am fedup to replace the magnavox electronic module (1st one died after 220,000km'* and 2 in the row in the last 2 years) on my Boneville SSE1988 VIN C and I read with a lot of interest the swap possibility to DELCO individual coils (like my Impala SS 2005)
I have a question regarding the wiring harness.
Is the multi-pins harness connection is directly compatible from magavox to Delco coil electronic module socket or do I have to change the entire wiring harness?
Can I keep the same VIN C spark plugs wires and sparks plugs or should I go with the one that matches the Delco swap?

The swap is completely bolt-in and plug-in. No changes to the wire harness.
The stock spark plugs and wires will both work fine. The front (odd) wires will be long and require some creative routing. If that bothers you, buy a new set sized for a '93, and they should be a better fit.
I made a page about my experience doing this:

Well, all the knowledge on that page was gleaned from this forum. I just threw it together there to save me having to type it all out every time the question comes up. Feel free to link to it, etc.
Or perhaps it could even become a Techinfo article somehow?
<edit> Oh... there IS a Techinfo article already.

I found the whole assembly from a junkyard and it swapped over with no problems. Mine starts a bit better and it does idle better... but no HUGE difference for me. Good to swap over anyway though
