too bad they don't have more on the FWD 3.8 oh well time to get the peices and haul out all the precision measuring equipment and see what GN parts fit and what may need just some machining and custom bearings

was talking to a friend of mine who I've known for a year but JUST found out he was HEAVY into the buick tuning community ...he was part of the BC canada rep for buick motorsports (the GM division) ... did buick authenticity checks for ICBC (BC insurance company) ...and tuned ever buick up to 1990 or so ...did ALOT of 3.8 turbo buicks...

anyways long story short... the delta'* being turbo'd... I found out how ludicrously easy it would be to get my hp goal (and even more) outta my car... the only limitation ofcourse being funds as I'm buying a second engine and trans to do the work on

so far ... looks like the orphaned LG3-3 HO has more potenial then current L67'*

I've gone through it with him.. the only difference between the turbo 3.8 and my FWD is (other then mounting)

- internally.. the rolled fillet crank... there is a set of clevite 77 bearings that recreate that and make the "n/A" crank/bottom end just as strong.... that'* IT... the rods/pistons are the same

the FWD 3.8 heads are BETTER then the GN'*

- the FWD 3.8 has better front cam bearing getting rid of alot of cam walk problems they could have

the GN had the better 2pc intake ... it bolts onto my engine ... but I have to mod to top plenum to point the other way (easier in the long run)

- the FWD 3.8 and the RWD 3.8 have the same ECM.. just different chips(which I can swap easily).. and being N/A there are a couple sensors I have to add/change

ALL of the even fire 3.8 buick V6 cams swap right into my FWD 3.8

basically ... all the hp and trq the turbo 3.8 RWD cars can make... I can too ..... it'* the TRANSMISSION that limits me the most... but I've been assured by atleast 1 trans shop they can make my 4T60 capable of living underneath a 350hp 420 ftlb with no problems ...for under 1G canadian

and Opensourse... if you've got a Vin3 .. no problem.. if you've got a Vin C or up ...you've gotta play with 3800 stuff...

yeah no kidding... but the turbo motor is the last thing to go in... I'm looking at just under 3K into work into a 2nd motor and trans (I don't want ANY problems )

but before it goes in .. I want the suspension, brakes, tires.. and any bracing done ... by the westcoast meet I should have some N/A power mods done though
