When mine go out, I can bring them back by thumping on the lower-left edge of the dash near the left-side dashboard vent. One of these days I'm going to open it up and clean everything properly...

I have the same exact problem! My compass comes on sporadically and the dic almost never! I've tried banging the dash in different places to make it come on w/no luck--but when the compass does come on--just for the hell of it--I'll bang the dash and it'll go out! Any ideas?

Yes....the instrument cluster. I'll look up your procedures......
Well, it doesn't say you have to drop your column, but it says you do have to remove the side and ws defroster grilles and speaker. Doesn't make sense. Mine was actually pretty damn easy.

I haven't pulled my complete dash yet, but I've pulled the top and gauges off--seems like I can see most of the wires--but when I have enough time(also have a T/A and GN project) and the weather breaks I might drop my dash for the hell of it. This car has alot of electrical issues!! To use the headlights I have to use the twilight sentinel switch--the reagular headlight switch just turns on the 2 headlights-and that'* all!!
