code 26 + trans hesitation
For the longest time I've had this QDM fault.. and I want to know how to fix this. I've done all the procedures in the FSM, and still left me with nothing. I think it'* starting to affect the fuel mileage, but not driveability. It'* also not letting my cooling fans turn on, and I know all the circuits are related.
The other thing, every since getting the bonnie on the road, the trans hesitates between shifts. It'* got about a full second delay between 1-2, and 2-3. It'* like it'* totally in neutral, so I have to let off at the shift then it'll slowly clunk into gear and i'm off. The gears are all still there.. 3rd is a bit iffy, but it always was. But I opened her up the first time, thinking it would do the same, but it didn't. It was a nice positive shift both times. The vacuum modulator is maxed out, and the TV cable is at about 75% throttle.. a tad bit high [purposely].. and 3rd gear was all there then too. I also shifted at 4k. Then the problem went away for the next shift sequence, then came back. I think the pump is going out? Fluid is just a hair over the full area.. totally safe, always ran it that way, not foaming or anything dumb like that.

What happens if you back out the modulator? Its a lot to be commanding full line pressure...
Also make sure that TV is adjusted properly, any variance in the wrong direction can make it a picky trans..

This is the exact same setup I had when the car was parked. Never touched a thing. Never had this problem before... the 2-3 shift shuddered in the half throttle range.. WOT was fine, gramma accel was fine as well... and it was made worse by the bad motor mounts which are still there unfortunately.

Thats the bad thing about having them sit up... Its rough on the internal seals and the like... Can cause all sorts of issues... Either that or the clutch wear may be showing through..
Happens... At almost 165k I know my trans is almost done..

Now for that code 26....
